How’s everyone doing out there? Are you struggling with self quarantines or forced sheltering in place? I’ve been having some anxious feelings, alternating with feeling like I have it pretty good (since I already work at home and have a house that’s always well-stocked with food!) But truthfully I’ve been struggling a bit with what to share on the blog during these crazy times.

And I’ve been seeing other bloggers feature recipes using pantry ingredients like beans, pasta, and rice and I knew that wouldn’t be helpful for low-carb eaters. I wanted to do something to help my readers, so I worked hard to create this list of Low-Carb and Keto Recipes with Ingredients You May Have on Hand, and I hope it will be helpful!

Besides featured recipes, you’ll find  a list of low-carb ingredients to keep on hand with more recipe options using those ingredients. I’m also telling you when there are ingredients that can be optional so you could make the recipe if you don’t have every ingredient. For everyone who is confined at home and trying to stick with your low-carb way of eating, I hope this will be a useful reference for you. And stay safe everyone!

Recommended Ingredients to Keep on Hand:

People have varied freezer, fridge, and pantry space and food preferences, so you probably can’t store all these foods at once. But look for recipes using the ingredients you enjoy most and try to keep those on hand.  

  • Bacon, Beef chuck roast, Chicken Breasts, Ham, Ground Beef, Turkey or Pork Italian Sausage, Eggs
  • Cheese including Mozzarella Cheese, Feta Cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, Parmesan Cheese, Sharp Cheddar Cheese, Three Cheese Mexican Blend, Cream Cheese (Different cheeses can be substituted in most recipes).
  • Cabbage, Cauliflower, Cauliflower Rice, broccoli, Mushrooms, Red Bell Peppers, Green Bell Peppers
