Slow Cookers were big in 2013 and they’re trendy again, so I’m updating this collection of The Top Ten Slow Cooker Recipes of 2013 from Kalyn’s Kitchen!

PIN The Top Ten Slow Cooker Recipes to try one later!

[EDIT – April 2020] For a few weeks now I’ve been noticing an increase in traffic to slow cooker recipes on my site, and I figured people are pulling out their slow cooker more during this time we’re all sheltering-in-place at home. Then for the last two days this *very* old year-end round-up post was the top trending post on my site! So I decided to clean it up a bit and when I did, I was interested to see how many of these old recipes are still things I’d happily make. I don’t know who is sending traffic here, but no matter where you’re finding it on the web, I hope you have fun trying some of the recipes.

Some of these picks for the Top Ten Slow Cooker Recipes of 2013 have been updated with better photos, and one recipe even has an Instant Pot version! But even seven years later I’m happy to say that I still think all these recipes deserved to make it on the top ten list.

  3. Deb, I was skeptical at first, but I'm hooked on it now! So far I have tried three different egg dishes in the slow cooker and all were good.

  4. I have got to try making a fritatta in the slow cooker. They look so good!!

  5. Arianamarie, so glad you enjoyed it; I loved that recipe too.

  6. I made the Southwestern Beef Stew and it was so good. The first half, we ate over some leftover rice and topped it with a dollop of sour cream. A few days later, we ate just the stew (with sour cream dollop, of course!) and it was wonderful.

May you have a joyful New Year.

  7. Thanks Lydia; I know you'll love it in the Ninja.

I made a big batch of chili following your Black Bean and Beef recipe, except for using soya granules instead of the meat. Everybody was surprised when I told them there was no meat in the chili. I used black beans that I had soaked overnight and cooked before.

Thank you for enriching my lfie with your recipes and tips. Best wishes for the holidays and the New Year,
    Merisi
