Your family is going to love these Instant Pot Salsa Pork Chops for an easy dinner, and no one will guess this is a low-carb meal!
PIN Instant Pot Salsa Pork Chops to try them later!
These Instant Pot Salsa Pork Chops are a sibling of my popular recipe for Slow Cooker Salsa Pork Chops and both of those are a cousin of the Instant Pot Salsa Chicken and Slow Cooker Salsa Chicken that have also been super popular on the blog!
And I’m guessing everyone who likes pork chops is also going to love this simple new recipe where you brown seasoned pork chops, put them in the Instant Pot with low-sugar salsa and fresh lime juice, cook under pressure for just 2 minutes, then remove the pork chops to a baking dish, cover with cheese, and broil just until the cheese is melted. Doesn’t that sound easy and delicious?
We browned the pork chops in a pan on the stove, but brown them in batches in the Instant Pot if you don’t want to dirty another pan. But if your family likes pork chops, I hope you’ll try this tasty way to cook them in the Instant Pot. I ate one of my leftover pork chops for breakfast the next day, that’s how good they were!

How to make Instant Pot Salsa Pork Chops:
(Scroll down for complete recipe, including nutritional information.)
- Trim excess fat from pork loin sirloin chops (as desired) and rub with spices.
- Heat olive oil and brown pork chops well. (We browned them in a frying pan, which was quicker but brown in two batches in the Instant Pot if you prefer.)
- Spray Instant Pot with non-stick spray and put browned pork chops in the bottom of the Instant Pot. (Spray Instant Pot before browning if you’re doing that in the Instant Pot.)
- Combine Pace Picante Sauce (affiliate link) with lime juice. (I used my fresh-frozen lime juice for this.)
- Pour salsa mixture over pork chops.
- Lock lid on the Instant Pot and set to MANUAL, HIGH PRESSURE, 2 minutes.
- Let Instant Pot NATURAL RELEASE ten minutes, then release the pressure.
- Turn on broiler and put pork chops in a broiler-safe baking dish.
- Turn Instant Pot to SAUTE, HIGH and cook 5 minutes to reduce the sauce.
- Spoon thicker parts of the sauce over the pork chops in the baking dish. (You won’t need all the sauce.)
- Sprinkle with grated Mexican Blend Cheese.
- Broil just until cheese is melted.
- Serve hot, with extra sauce on the side.
Make it a Low-Carb Meal:
Salsa Pork Chops would be delicious with low-carb side dishes like Spicy Mexican Slaw, Easy Cheesy Baked Keto Cauliflower, or served over Easy Cauliflower Rice to soak up the sauce.

Instant Pot Salsa Pork Chops
Instant Pot Salsa Pork Chops are an easy dinner that's guaranteed to be a hit with the whole family.
Ingredients
- 6 boneless pork loin sirloin chops
- 3/4 tsp. ground cumin
- 3/4 tsp. garlic powder
- salt and fresh-ground black pepper to taste (see notes)
- 1 T olive oil
- 1 1/2 cups Pace Picante Sauce

Instructions
- Trim excess fat from pork loin sirloin chops (as desired) and rub with a mixture of ground cumin, garlic powder, salt, and fresh ground black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add pork chops and cook until well-browned on each side. (Browning improves flavor, so I don't recommend skipping this step. You can brown the pork chops in two batches in the Instant Pot if you prefer.
- Spray Instant Pot with non-stick spray. (Do this before browning pork chops if you're browning them in the Instant Pot.)
- Put browned pork chops in the bottom of the Instant Pot.
- Combine Pace Picante Sauce (other other low-sugar salsa) with fresh-squeezed lime juice. (I used my fresh-frozen lime juice for this.)
- Pour salsa mixture over pork chops.
- Lock lid on the Instant Pot and set to MANUAL, HIGH PRESSURE, 2 minutes.
- When time ends, let Instant Pot NATURAL RELEASE for ten minutes, then release the pressure.
- Turn on broiler and put pork chops in a broiler-safe baking dish.
- Turn Instant Pot to SAUTE, HIGH and cook 5 minutes to reduce the sauce.
- Use a slotted spoon to spoon thicker parts of the sauce over the pork chops in the baking dish. (You won't need to use all the sauce.)
- Sprinkle with grated Mexican Blend Cheese.
- Broil just until the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes but watch it carefully if you have a powerful broiler.
- Serve hot, with extra sauce on the side and diced avocado, sour cream, or Green Tabasco Sauce (affiliate link) to add at the table if desired.
Notes
I used about 1/2 tsp. salt and slightly less black pepper. I love Pace Picante Sauce (affiliate link) but any low-sugar salsa will work for this recipe.

I have thick cut chops, about 1.5″. Would I need to increase the cook time?
No I don’t think that will matter. They should still be plenty done when they’re cooked under pressure.
What thickness of pork chops do you use?
I haven’t ever measured them but I’d guess the pork loin sirloin chops I used are at least 3/4 inch thick and a bit thicker wouldn’t hurt.
