When another year ends I always like to share a round-up of the Best Low-Carb and Keto Recipes from the year! Here are the new or updated recipes I worked on in 2024; hope you enjoy discovering some recipes you might have missed!

When the year is winding down, I always make a round-up of recipes from the year that’s ending. And when I shared the round-up from last year I talked about how I’m adapting some of my earliest recipes into lower-carb versions, and that’s something I continued doing this year. (I’ve learned to be sure there’s still a link to the older version for people who might be fans of the original recipe!)
And of course there are some brand-new recipes as well. I’m featuring 15 new or newly improved low-carb recipes for Breakfasts, Desserts, Dinners, Salads and Side Dishes, and Soups and Chili, with links 12 more recipes that might be a bit higher in carbs. I hope you enjoy seeing recipes you might have missed and maybe even finding some you’d like to try. And did you know that in a few months Kalyn’s Kitchen will be 20 years old? So this new year’s season I’m feeling especially grateful to the readers who have supported my little website for so many years!
Low-Carb and Keto Breakfast Recipes:
This recipe for Swiss Chard Egg Bake (with Cottage Cheese) got an update with some changes to increase the amount of protein, and this tasty breakfast with Swiss Chard has only 4 net carbs per serving and 21 grams of protein.
This new recipe for Tortilla Egg Bake is a low-carb and Keto breakfast that the whole family will probably love! I shared four variations for this TikTok idea for eggs baked inside a tortilla shell, and the basic recipe with the low-carb tortillas I used has only 2.2 net carbs and 10.8 grams of protein. (This recipe needs to use low-carb tortillas to be gluten-free.)
Low-Carb and Keto Dessert Recipes:
I updated this recipe for Ranger Cookies into a version made with almond flour, pecans, unsweetened coconut, sugar-free chocolate chips, and a small amount of ground oatmeal and itโs now sugar-free, gluten-free, and has only 3.9 net carbs per cookie! When I was testing the new version, I kept these cookies in the freezer and I found myself eating one almost every day!
Sugar-Free Coconut Macaroons are the other cookie recipe that got an update this year when Kara and I decided the original version seemed a bit too sweet. These cookies are made with slivered almonds, unsweetened coconut, and Monkfruit Sweetener for a tasty sugar-free cookie with only 2 net carbs per cookie.
Low-Carb and Keto Dinner Recipes:
In 2024 I visited Cuba with my friends Cristina and Carol, and it was a bucket-list country for me! And after I tried and loved the Cuban dish called Ropa Vieja I came up with this Ropa Vieja Recipe that can be made in the Instant Pot or on the stove. This tasty dish has only 7 net carbs and over 50 grams of protein, and green olives are optional in Ropa Vieja, so you can leave those out if you’re not a fan.
This recipe for Apricot Glazed Pork Chops that uses sugar-free apricot preserves got an update in 2024 so now the recipe makes four servings, and they’re easier to make and lower in carbs (with less than 5 net carbs and 29 grams of protein!)
Another recipe that got updated into an easier version (with much better photos!) is this Chicken Broccoli Curry Casserole with Cauliflower Rice. And the new easy version of this long time favorite uses rotisserie chicken, frozen cauliflower rice, and frozen broccoli for a tasty casserole with 6.8 net carbs and 21 grams of protein!
Low-Carb and Keto Salads and Side Dishe Recipes:
We were wowed by this new recipe for Instant Pot Asparagus (with 10 Ideas to Add Flavor) that’s so quick and easy, and there are also tips for cooking the asparagus if you don’t have an Instant Pot. (The asparagus with Parmesan shown in the photo has 3 net carbs and 3 grams of protein.)
This new recipe for Bacon and Pea Salad is my version of a classic salad with frozen peas, bacon, cheddar cheese, green onion, slivered almonds, and a mayo-sour cream dressing, with only 9 net carbs per serving and 14 grams protein!
This Chopped Antipasto Salad Recipe got an update (with more specific amounts and nutritional information) and a photo update! This salad has endless variations but the salad shown in the photo has 9.5 net carbs and 15 grams of protein.
I showed my Utah roots by coming up with a copycat version of the popular BYU Creamery Ranch Dressing and it includes a batch of the seasoning mix to keep on hand, so you donโt need to buy those expensive packets of ranch mix from the store! (The finished dressing has only 1 net carb per serving.)
Another updated recipe we loved this year is this dairy-free Ground Turkey Taco Salad with Salsa Verde that has turkey seasoned with salsa verde, cumin, and lime, and salsa verde in the dressing. And this can be a whole-meal salad and has about 10 net carbs and 34 grams of protein!
Low-Carb and Keto Soup and Chili Recipes:
This new recipe for Instant Pot Chicken Pot Pie Soup is absolutely a winner! We experimented quite a bit to come up with a no-potato version of this classic soup with only 12 net carbs per serving and 27 grams of protein, and there are stovetop instructions for people who don’t have an Instant Pot.
Turkey Sweet Potato Chili is a recipe that got an update so it has more turkey and green pepper for a no-bean chili with only about 10 carbs per serving and 27 grams of protein! And if you prefer you can use less sweet potato for even lower carbs.
This Sausage and Cabbage Soup is an updated low-carb version of a favorite soup that originally had lentils; I used cauliflower rice to replace them for the lower-carb soup you see here with 10.7 net carbs and 13.7 grams of protein.
