Not long ago I updated the recipe for Roasted Cauliflower with Parmesan and that reminded me how simple and delicious roasted cauliflower is. And it’s obvious that I am a roasted cauliflower fan, because I have a lot of variations of roasted cauliflower. This Roasted Spicy Cauliflower is a recipe that recently got popular on Pinterest, and I decided to update the original photos that I felt didn’t really show off how tasty it was. If you like spicy food and are a cauliflower fan, this might become one of your favorite ways to cook it!

The  original recipe for this spicy cauliflower simply called for red pepper flakes. Although I had a few different types in my pantry, I was excited to use the Aleppo Pepper that Burcu from Almost Turkish Recipes sent me as a gift when we were doing a blog event together.

What is Aleppo Pepper?

Burcu described Aleppo Pepper as Turkish flaked hot red pepper and said “You can use this semi moist, delicious smelling, hot, flaked red pepper while cooking or sprinkle it on your foods.” I loved the Aleppo pepper and found it to be seriously addicting. Now flash forward quite a few years and I went to Turkey where I stocked up on Aleppo Pepper. You can also buy Aleppo Pepper from Amazon.com (affiliate link). I love making this recipe with Aleppo pepper, but just use another type of spicy red pepper to make this if you don’t have that and don’t want to buy it.

What ingredients do you need for this recipe?

  • large head cauliflower
  • olive oil
  • red pepper flakes; I would use Aleppo Pepper (affiliate link) but use any red pepper you have
  • salt
  • fresh ground black pepper to taste
