    No, all purpose flour won't be South Beach Diet approved. There are recipes out there for white whole wheat pizza crust though. This one is probably good (it's from a good blog):
    If you skip …the cornmeal and just dust with white whole wheat flour, that recipe is SBD friendly.

  2. Dear Kalyn – I love love love pizza and am searching for a way to make a South Beach dough that tastes like … pizza. I visited the King Arthur site and saw a flour that I was hoping would work for South Beach (Phase 2 & 3 of course). What do you think about this one:

  3. Jennylc, I can't really say for sure, but I think flax seed meal would be considered a grain and therefore phase 2. I don't know for sure that I've ever come across it on an ingredient list, but if you've seen it in one of the book listed as phase one it might be okay. I don't think baking powder is an issue.

  4. Hello Kalyn. I'm glad to have found your blog. I'm just starting out on the south beach diet and am concerned about no bread in phase 1. I've found a flax seed meal bread recipe and was wondering if you thought it would be acceptbable for phase 1. It contains, oil, water, artificial sweetener, salt, baking powder, eggs, and flaxseed meal. I think all of the ingrediants are ok, but wasn't sure if baking powder would be acceptable for phase 1. Please let me know what you think! Thanks much.
