Instant Pot Salsa Pork Chops
Instant Pot Salsa Pork Chops are an easy dinner that's guaranteed to be a hit with the whole family. And this easy and tasty meal is low in carbs, high in protein, and gluten-free!
Ingredients
- 6 boneless pork loin sirloin chops
- 3/4 tsp. ground cumin
- 3/4 tsp. garlic powder
- salt and fresh-ground black pepper to taste (see notes)
- 1 T olive oil
- 1 1/2 cups Pace Picante Sauce
- 3 T fresh-squeezed lemon juice
- 1 cup grated Mexican Blend Cheese
Instructions
- Trim excess fat from pork loin sirloin chops (as desired) and rub with a mixture of ground cumin, garlic powder, salt, and fresh ground black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add pork chops and cook until well-browned on each side. (Browning improves flavor, so I don't recommend skipping this step. You can brown the pork chops in two batches in the Instant Pot if you prefer.
- Spray Instant Pot with non-stick spray. (Do this before browning pork chops if you're browning them in the Instant Pot.)
- Put browned pork chops in the bottom of the Instant Pot.
- Combine Pace Picante Sauce (other other low-sugar salsa) with fresh-squeezed lime juice. (I used my fresh-frozen lime juice for this.)
- Pour salsa mixture over pork chops.
- Lock lid on the Instant Pot and set to MANUAL, HIGH PRESSURE, 2 minutes.Â
- When time ends, let Instant Pot NATURAL RELEASE for ten minutes, then release the pressure.
- Turn on broiler and put pork chops in a broiler-safe baking dish.
- Turn Instant Pot to SAUTE, HIGH and cook 5 minutes to reduce the sauce.
- Use a slotted spoon to spoon thicker parts of the sauce over the pork chops in the baking dish. (You won't need to use all the sauce.)
- Sprinkle with grated Mexican Blend Cheese.
- Broil just until the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes but watch it carefully if you have a powerful broiler.
- Serve the Salsa Pork Chops hot, with extra sauce on the side and diced avocado, sour cream, or Green Tabasco Sauce (affiliate link) to add at the table if desired.Â
Notes
I used about 1/2 tsp. salt and slightly less black pepper. I love Pace Picante Sauce (affiliate link) but any low-sugar salsa will work for this recipe.

I have thick cut chops, about 1.5″. Would I need to increase the cook time?
No I don’t think that will matter. They should still be plenty done when they’re cooked under pressure.
What thickness of pork chops do you use?
I haven’t ever measured them but I’d guess the pork loin sirloin chops I used are at least 3/4 inch thick and a bit thicker wouldn’t hurt.
