Kalyn's Herb Blend shown in glass jar

Kalyn’s Herb Blend is something I started making about years ago, inspired by the recipe for American Heart Association Herb Seasoning, a salt-free seasoning blend. I make this a little differently every time now, depending on what I have on hand. But the basic herb blend recipe in this post is so good, and you can use it in almost any savory recipe.

And this flavorful blend of dried herbs is something I’ve been giving for Christmas gifts for many years. I’ve even had people use it all and ask if they can buy more! Of course I don’t sell it, but you can make your own with this easy herb blend recipe.

This is all purpose blend is great as a gift for people who cook a little, but who aren’t likely to have lots of different herbs and spices. This recipe is my latest version; I hope you will enjoy trying it and maybe even making some to give away.

Do you need all these herbs and spices for Kalyn’s Herb Blend?

From having made this for years and years, I’d say the essentials in this blend are garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, parsley, oregano, basil, and pepper. You can add or subtract other herbs as desired. Create your own blend based on your favorites, and then name it after yourself and give it away for Christmas! I promise your friends will be impressed. And this herb blend adds only about one carb total to any recipe you use it in so the carbs per serving will be very minimal!
