The Top Ten Vegetarian Recipes of 2013 from Kalyn’s Kitchen (and a few Honorable Mentions)

Top Ten Vegetarian Recipes of 2013 from Kalyn's Kitchen
Out of all the vegetarian recipes posted on Kalyn’s Kitchen during 2013, these are my picks for the top ten!

I love this time of year when blogs start posting their Best of the Year posts, and I’ve been doing best recipes posts on Kalyn’s Kitchen since 2007!  My standards are always high about what makes it on the blog, so every year I have a hard time narrowing it down to ten.  But this year after I went through the monthly archives and bookmarked the recipes I had especially loved this year, I had 52 recipes bookmarked!  That’s when I decided to do a series of best recipes posts, starting off with The Top Ten Vegetarian Recipes of 2013.  (Stay tuned from now until the end of the year for The Top Ten Recipes with Meat, Poultry, and Fish for 2013, The Top Ten Slow Cooker Recipes of 2013, and Ten Favorite Phase One Recipes from Other Bloggers.)

All of these healthy vegetarian recipes are dishes I loved this year, and many were featured as my weekly Meatless Monday post. I doubt I’ll ever become a vegetarian, but I love the idea of eating less meat and I’ll be doing Meatless Monday again this year.  The recipes are in no particular order, but one of these recipes made history when my brother-in-law had seconds on vegetables!  I hope you enjoy seeing the vegetarian meals I enjoyed during the year, and if you’ve tried any of these recipes, I’d love to hear in the comments about how you liked it!

  1. Squid, I do welcome comments from anyone who has made the recipe (and if you click to the original posts I'm sure you will see some.) But with the rise of social media I notice far fewer people are leaving comments on recipes. I'm not sure what you are thinking I can do about that, but I always publish comments when people leave them!

  2. Kalyn I praise your help. I sing your praises. I do have a suggestion I hope you will consider. I read reviews, and they help me make decisions on some things..recipes,movies,shoes,vacation rentals etc. I would love, love it and would find it very helpful if,for instance, when a person responds to a recipe If they have actually made it,and their thoughts on it, if they made changes and what their thoughts on having made it,and have tasted it. Although "Yum, I need to try this"is nice, but not helpful. Especially if one has to go to the grocery and buy items specifically for a certain recipe. Postings on those folks that have made the recipe would be wonderful, and more helpful than ever. Sorry if this is a suggestion that is too much of a pain to consider, but I really think many of the cooks that do try recipes would really appreciate it,myself included. Happy, healthy New year Kalyn, you have become so important in my life,as well as others. Blessings..rj
