Kalyn’s Kitchen Picks: Jimmy Dean Pre-Cooked Turkey Link Sausage

Kalyn's Kitchen Picks: Jimmy Dean Pre-Cooked Turkey Link Sausage

I’ve tried a few different brands of turkey breakfast sausage, but never found one that really wowed me until I tried this Jimmy Dean Pre-Cooked Turkey Link Sausage that I found at Costco. Actually I spotted this a few months ago, but it came in a package with 48 links of sausage, and I wasn’t sure I’d like it enough to buy that much. Then one day I was at Costco when they were giving samples of the sausage. I took one bite and a box of sausage flew into my cart.

I know it’s excess packaging, but I love the way the sausages come in little packs of six, sealed in plastic so you can throw them in the freezer and then take one out whenever you want sausage for breakfast. Sausage with eggs isn’t an every-day thing for me, but this sausage is pretty nutritious for a quick-to-cook product. I’ll still stick to things like egg muffins or peanut butter oatmeal for breakfast most of the time, but this sausage is something I’m glad I can enjoy for a special breakfast once in a while.

Blogger Disclosure:
I purchased this sausage myself and Jimmy Dean has no idea that I’m writing about their product.

  1. Hi There! I absolutely LOVE your blog. I did the South Beach Diet a few years ago after having my first child and I had great success. It was hard for me to stay with it though because I couldn't come up with creative and tasty recipes like you. I stumbled upon your blog while doing an online search of the SB Diet because I wanted to get back on it again and lose the weight that I have gained after having my second child. I just wanted to say thank you so much for this fantastic blog! Your food is so simple to make and has so much variety that one can never get bored.

  2. Barbara, you'll love them and I bet the kids will eat them too.

  3. I'll look for these the next time I'm at Costco. I'm always leery to try a huge Costco pack without tasting it first too.

  4. Thanks Angie, I'm always happy to hear that. And the crumbles are added to my shopping list!

  5. (We have bought the crumbles, too.)

  6. Our family loves these. I enjoy your blog, Kalyn. xx

  7. Wendy, Maria commented above about the crumbles so that's two votes for them. I'm definitely going to be looking for them at my grocery store.

  8. Have you tried the crumbled version of these? Ammazing in baked eggs and in a egg scramble with some sauteed veggies 🙂

  9. Paula, isn't Costco great? (And they're not paying me to advertise their products either!) You'll like this sausage; I'm sure of it!

  10. I love to know what other people buy at Costco. Will definitely give these a try. Like the idea they are lower in fat. You sold me.

  11. Thanks Melissa. My ultra-talented brother Rand makes the headers for the blog.

  12. Love your new fall look Kalyn!

  13. Susie Bee, it does sound good doesn't it!

Maria, I haven't seen the crumbles but will look for them.

  14. Kayln, you should try the crumbles. It is very good for omlets.

  15. I'll take a look at our Costco. Love Helen's bfast idea!

  16. Dara, they're really good! Every other brand of turkey sausage I tried tasted not quite right to me, but these are great.

  17. I have seen these at Costco, but never tried them. I adore sausage, but worry about the excess fat, so it would be great to have a good turkey sausage to fall back on.

  18. Lydia, they have really good flavor compared to some of the other turkey breakfast sausages I've tried.

Helen, good idea. And definitely much more healthy than the fast food variety!

  19. I love these too! About once a week, I have an Egg, Cheese, and Sausage English Muffin made with 2 of these little links. Much more nutritious that the one sold at that fast food place 🙂

  20. I'll keep an eye out for these at my Costco. I don't eat breakfast sausage often, but with the holidays coming up, I like to plan for more extravagant breakfasts than I usually make, and it's great to have things like these sausages in the freezer.
