Kalyn’s Kitchen Picks: Anchor Hocking 12 Cup Bake-and-Store Glass Casserole Dish

Anchor Hocking Bake & Store Dish
This little square dish I found at Home Goods has become my favorite baking dish for casseroles!

This week my nephew and cooking assistant Jake were working on a new vegetarian casserole when Jake remarked again how much he liked the new square casserole dish I bought a few months ago.  And since I am also crazy over this handy glass baking dish, I decided it was worthy to be recommended as a Kalyn’s Kitchen Pick (and even as a possible holiday gift for any foodies you might have on your list.)  I originally got the dish with a certain recipe in mind, but since then it’s almost the only casserole dish I’ve used, and I like it so much I recently bought a second one!

The day I set out to look for some type of deep, square dish I found this one at Home Goods, where it was only $9.99, so if there’s a Home Goods in your area, I’d recommend looking there first.  If that doesn’t work out, you can buy the Anchor Hocking 12 Cup Bake ‘N Keep Storage Container from Amazon.com, but it’s more expensive there. (And if you’re getting this for baking, be careful to buy the one that says “Bake & Store” because it seems there’s a similar-looking product that is just for storing.

Just for fun, here are the recipes I’ve made (so far!) in my Bake & Store dish.

This Layered Mexican Casserole with Chicken, Green Chiles, Pinto Beans, and Cheese was the recipe idea that sent me in search of the dish in the first place.

This dish was perfect when I wanted a deep casserole dish for Baked Whole Wheat Spaghetti with Turkey Italian Sausage and Mozzarella.

I also used the dish for this Leftover Turkey (or Chicken) Shepherd’s Pie with Garlic-Parmesan Cauliflower Topping.

Do any of you love this square baking dish as much as I do?  And if anyone sees this on sale for a good price somewhere else, please let us know about it in the comments.
