Kalyn’s Kitchen is my personal blog, where I share recipes I’m cooking in my own kitchen. I hope my blog is a resource for anyone who likes the kind of creative carb-conscious recipes this blog is known for.

To contact me, send your e-mail to kalynskitchen (at) comcast (dot) net. (This address needs to be converted to normal e-mail format.)

Answering Questions from Readers:
I love to hear from people who are readers of Kalyn’s Kitchen and will do my best to answer simple questions, although I don’t have the training or the time to give full-fledged dieting advice. If your question is about a specific recipe, please consider leaving it as a comment on that post so others can benefit from the answer.

How to Leave a Comment:
To leave a comment, just click where it says “Leave a Reply” at the end of the post. If you have a website you can link your site to your comment signature, but links which appear spammy will be deleted. Some comments will come to me in an e-mail and won’t show up on the blog until I publish them, and I’m not sitting by the computer waiting for comments 100% of the time, so thanks for your patience!

Reach me Through Social Media:
I try to check in with Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest a few times each day, and try to respond to people who reach me there, but I can’t always keep up with comments on social media so if you really need to reach me, leaving a comment on the blog or sending e-mail is better.

My Thoughts About Reviewing Cookbooks or Products
This blog is about what I’m cooking in my own kitchen, so I’m only interested in talking about cookbooks or products I’m personally using and would happily buy again. Because I have limited time to try new products or cookbooks, I have decided to no longer accept books or other products for review. I do love to mention cookbooks I’m using and talk about my favorite products on the blog, but when I do that I enjoy being able to tell my readers that I bought them myself. (If you’re a food blogger who has written a book, feel free to drop me a line to let me know about it and if it interests me I’ll be happy to buy your book.)

Working with Other Bloggers:
I don’t use guest posts of other kinds, and don’t participate in any kind of sponsored campaigns. I am happy to have my work included in blogger recipe round-ups (as long as it doesn’t include the actual recipe and only features a photo plus a link to get the recipe from my site.

    Glad to hear you are enjoying the blog. Not sure I have any brilliant ideas for snacks, but if you enter "snacks" or "snack" into the google search bar on the blog, you will find a post I wrote about this, as well as any recipe I've mentioned that I eat as a snack. For me, lots of veggies and dip and sugar snap peas, and of course string cheese!

  5. Oh my goodness…I have made so many things from your blog and have pretty much LOVED all of them! I was wondering if you have any ideas on snacks that can be made at the beginning of the week to have throughout the week. I'm a full-time working mom of 2 children and am also taking college courses in order to get my masters degree, so time is not always on my side! You seem to have an abundance of good food ideas so I'm interested in what kind of snacks you indulge in. Thank you!

  9. Sherry, I have no idea what recipe you are referring to? And truthfully I don't have much experience substituting things for cheese.

  10. Do you have an alternate version of this recipe for those of us who are seriously lactose-intolerant? Milk cooked into a recipe goes through a chemical change that doesn't bother me. But I can't eat anything with cheese cooked into it. Any ideas? Thanks.

    I just stumbled upon this website via Pinterest and I am in heaven. I have yet to make anything, but will start this week, as I will be starting the SB diet. I need to loose a few lbs before a surgery I have coming up. Thank you for creating this website and organizing all the recipes the way you have (by phase). This is a dream come true for me!! I love your meals, it has helped me to try out other stuff instead of the same recipes in the south beach diet books…I lost weight with the south beach diet recipes before but I've put on a little weight and wanted to try new meals has it got a bit boring eating the same thing over and over again…not that south beach diet meals are bad but on phase one, I needed something different to keep me motivated which your meals has….Your'e an inspiration!!

  14. Hi Kalyn – wow! I'm on Day 5 of Phase 1 and am loving the SBD so far, and especially, especially the fantastic blog and recipes from you. I had the chicken/red and green cabbage/onion coleslaw tonight for dinner and it was delish!

    My question to you is: I know you are not affiliated with SBD. However, is there some way that I can enter the ingredients from one of your recipes onto their site and log it into my journal? I know this is possible with WW but I can't find anywhere to make this happen on SBD.

I have recently been diagnosed with celiac disease and was searching the internet for gluten free recipes when I stumbled upon your site. i have spent about 5 1/2 hours so far building an arsenal of wonderful, naturally gluten free recipes from your phase one collection. Thank you for being so well organized and helping me reclaim my passion for food, even with the dietary restriction. <3

  16. Hi Lindsey,
    I already spend far too much time on the blog, so I am definitely not going to post grocery lists. You can make your own list using the Ziplist Feature though (on the right.) If you need to find ideas for recipes using similar ingredients, just enter the ingredients into the search bar. That's also a good way to find a recipe to use what you have on hand.

Have you ever done a weekly grocery list for some of your recipes that include similar ingredients? i don't want to buy excessively or waste ingredients when I cannot think of another way to use them, so just wondering if you have ever done anything like that.     I just wanted to take a minute and thank you for this wonderful website. I found your site a couple of weeks ago and have used your meals many times since then. I am a colorectal cancer survivor and it has been recommended to eat a low carb, low sugar, high protein diet. Your meals really hit that right on the head.
