Friday Night Photos: Caputos on 15th and 15th in Salt Lake City

This photo shows some of the amazing meats and cheese at Caputos on 15th and 15th.

A few months ago I went to lunch at Caputos new location on 15th and 15th with a few foodie friends.   This was back when we could enjoy sitting outside on the patio and soaking up the late summer sunshine.  I loved the food when I visited Caputo’s by Night, so I was excited to give their new place a try.

Caputos 15th & 15th is a charming specialty food store close to my neighborhood specializing in imported and local meats and cheeses and other specialty food products.  There’s also small deli inside the market with a seating area for patrons to enjoy the sandwiches, salads, and soups prepared in the deli.  This isn’t fancy dining and the food is served on paper plates, but it’s hearty food with the emphasis on high quality and everything we sampled was delicious.

Here’s a shot of the meat counter in the deli section.

More of the tasty deli meats Caputos is famous for.

Turkey sandwich with a Caprese Salad on the side.

Roasted tomato soup with bread for dipping!

The pesto pasta salad looked so good that everyone wished they had ordered it.

I splurged on the half of a Reuben sandwich, but the Arugula salad on the side was my favorite part of the meal.  Next time I’d order a big plate of that, which would also be more diet-friendly for me!

I’m acquainted with the Caputo family, who are friends of my long-time friend Mary, but we paid for our food when we visited Caputo’s 15th & 15th and they had no idea I was going to write about their new location.  (However, I was taking photos of the food and they may have figured out that we were food bloggers because they sent over the plate of meats and cheeses at the top of this post for us to sample!)  I don’t really do restaurant reviews, but occasionally I share photos from Salt Lake City Restaurants, Restaurants in Other Utah Cities,  or Restaurants in Other U.S. Cities where I’ve had a great meal.

  5. That is something I miss a really good Italian Deli. I recently moved from California to Southern Utah. I am craving prosciutto and stinky cheese (sharp provolone).
