Friday Night Photos: Brunch at Wild Grape with Some Utah Bloggers
posted by Kalyn Denny on December 12, 2009
Last weekend I met up at Wild Grape Bistro with a group of local food bloggers. It was my first time at Wild Grape, and they were very welcoming, starting us out with some complimentary scones which looked great. (I was saving room for brunch, so I didn’t indulge.)
All the food looked wonderful. I’m not going to try to tell you what everyone ordered, but I will confess what I ate, and it wasn’t this healthful-looking fruit plate.
Anyone who knows me could have predicted I’d have the Eggs Benedict, but I did give away the potatoes in at least a token attempt to keep the meal diet-friendly. (Thumbs up on the Eggs Benedict, great hollandaise sauce and perfectly-cooked eggs.)
Here’s the group gathered around the table, and with huge windows on two sides, this was a photography challenge to get even a halfway good shot. Thank goodness for Adobe Lightroom!
Nutella-Stuffed Brioche French Toast isn’t really the kind of thing that tempts me, but reportedly it was beyond delish.
By this photo Aiden has realized that I’ve actually taken his picture so now he’s hiding next to Holly!
This salad wasn’t at my end of the table, so I didn’t get details, just a quick shot.
Here’s the other side of the table being good sports indulging my photo obsession. (Notice, I like to take photos, but I don’t especially like to get in them myself!)
Not sure what the creamy white stuff is on the waffles either, but they certainly looked good.
There was also a cookie swap as part of this get-together, but I passed on that because coming home with a dozen assorted delicious cookies is just not what I need. If you’d like details and recipes for the cookies, check the reports from the other bloggers.
