Yesterday I announced a more mobile-friendly design for Kalyn’s Kitchen, with a visual recipe index where you can find recipe by diet type.  I wanted to mention that here, because the new ability to find recipes easily by diet type will be especially appealing for anyone who likes these Deliciously Healthy Low-Carb Recipes Round-Ups.  Now you can go to categories like Low-Carb, Gluten-Free, or Paleo and see a photo of every recipe I’ve posted that fits that way of eating.  There’s also a category for Phase One Fridays, and there are a few other diet categories I am still working on.  I hope that’s going to be useful to people who are trying to stick to a certain eating plan!

You probably aren’t surprised to hear that there aren’t as many low-carb recipes posted in December as there are other months of the year.  I still managed to find 25 recipes that look amazing, although there are a few more appetizers and snacks than usual in this round-up.  But then I thought about Superbowl Party Food and realized it’s all good; some of these low-carb dips and appetizers are going to be perfect for that.

Roasted Garlic Cauliflower Celery Root Mash from Cook Eat Paleo.  (Low-Carb, Gluten-Free, Paleo, Whole 30.  The recipe uses Ghee, a type of clarified which would not officially be permitted for South Beach Phase One, but I’d probably eat it.)

Curry Dill Dip from Recipe Girl.  With lower-carb veggies (no carrots) this would be Low-Carb, Gluten-Free, and South Beach Diet Phase One.  (South Beach would recommend using reduced-fat mayo and sour cream in a recipe like this.)

Cream of Mushroom Soup from Simply Recipes.  (Low-Carb, Gluten-Free.  This soup has butter and heavy cream which wouldn’t be recommended for South Beach Phase One, but I might eat it for an occasional treat.)

Pork Tenderloin Adobado from Bewitching Kitchen.  (This recipe has 1/2 teaspoon of sugar which you could omit if you prefer.  If you omit the sugar this would be Low-Carb, Gluten-Free, South Beach Phase One, Paleo, and Whole 30. With the sugar I’d still consider this Low-Carb and South Beach Phase One since it’s such a minimal amount for the number of servings.)

Brussels Sprouts and Bacon Frittata from Slender Kitchen.  (Low-Carb, Gluten-Free.  With approved bacon this can be Paleo or Whole 30.  South Beach Diet does not recommend bacon, but there’s not a lot of bacon here compared to other ingredients and I’d eat this on Phase One for an occasional treat.

Pork Fried “Turnip Rice” from Inspiralized.  (There is a tiny amount of honey and Hoisin sauce, and some sherry used in this recipe.  You could substitute or omit those ingredients, but the amounts are so small that even with them I’d still consider it Low-Carb and South Beach Phase One.  Be sure to use gluten-free Hoisin Sauce for Gluten-free.)

Perfect Baked Bacon from Leite’s Culinaria.  (Low-Carb, Gluten-Free; with approved bacon this could be Paleo or Whole 30.  South Beach doesn’t recommend bacon but I was having this as a very rare treat for Phase One, this would be a good way to cook it.)
